Baseball Hall of Famer Bob Feller at Last Licks

Legendary Cleveland Indians Hall of Fame Hurler appears at Last Licks Ice Cream store, 245 East 93rd Street. Feller, born in 1918 in Van Meter, Iowa, was renowned for his extraordinary fastball. He hurled for 18 campaigns with the Cleveland Indians during a career which began in 1936. He led the AL in wins six times while compiling 266 career victories. The right-hander pitched three no-hitters and 12 one-hit games, and led the league in strikeouts 7 seasons. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.

Diana Munson & Goose Gossage at Modell's Grand Central

To celebrate a pice of Yankee "Old Timer" History, Diana Munson, late wife of Yankee legend Thurman Munson, and recently inducted Hall-of-Fame pitcher Goose Gossage were at Modell's Sporting Goods in Grand Central to announce that the Thurman Munson 1978 Yankees World Series Trophy would be on display thru August 5th. Fans are invited to take photos with this cherished piece of Yankee history for a donation of $5 to benefit the Association for the help of Retarted Children (AHRC) NYC Foundation that assists children and adults with intellectual and developmental disablities.
